Final Production

 

Post-production

Our rough film that me and my group submitted was not giving the meaning that we were supposed to give out. Our teacher stated that we should use low lighting instead of regular lighting, she also stated that us talking during our film wasn't needed. 

To film our production we used a iPhone camera. We used regular lighting that was in the library to shoot our scenes. We also used the editing tool call WeVideo to edit our shots together. I learned how to apply filters to a shot and add background music. Some tools of the tools in the editing app were confusing at first, but I played with it and finally got the hang of it. My group used a black and white filter to make our scenes lightening give off a thriller movie.

 During these scenes we used music that had a ticking clock in the background but the beat build up suspense. We inserted these sounds by importing them using the feature in WeVideo. The filter were also added using a feature in the editing app. There weren't many difficulties in the process of making the rough draft. There were a bunch of moments were we laughed which was caught on camera.

Branding

On the first day of creating our production company we had to choose a company name. We didn't know what we wanted so we went to reserach some ways to choose them. But after 20 minute's of searching one of our group members Evicka suggested we put our initials together. The name was JEN-Z .The J is for Ja'Niyah (which is me), the E is for Evicka, the N is for Nia, and the Z is for Zhanae. After that, we looked for names to put at the end like other production companies. We looked at, pictures, studios, productions, films, and entertainment. We decided that productions would be the best fit because it fit the best with the name JEN-Z

FIlming

When filming for our production we first got a pass to the libary from our teacher. My group all changed into shirts that didnt have a logo on it. After that we then went to the libary discussed where we will sit for all of us to be able to be seen in the shoot. We brought folders, pencils, books, and a bunch of papers sense we wanted to give our audience the feeling that we were studying. Our first and second shot was a long shot, our third shot was a birds eye, while our 4th shot was a over the shoulder shot so our viewers can see Zhanae stating she was going to the bathroom. Our 5th shot was another over the shoulder shot to show me, Nia, and Evickas reaction to Zhanaes statement. Me, Evicka, and Nia stayed in the library while our camera women and Zhanae went out into the hallway to finish Zhanaes scenes.

Script writing

 In this blog I will be discussing  the process me and my group went through to create our current script. The script had a certain format. locations, character dialogue, transitions, and more... 

Process

What me and my group did to create our final script was look back at previous film scripts that other horror movies created. We really looked at the ways they introduced their dialogue and settings. The script was supposed to be based on our opening sequence. So we added a lot of things to our script. The picture shown is the script:

The stripboard was the first part in this weeks assignment. Me and my group picked out the scenes that took less time and chose to do those first. For my group ours was a scene showing the school. The stripboard was split up into 5 days. The first day was showing around the parts we were going to be shooting. The second day we will be filming in the library same as day 3 day 4 and day 5 we will be in the hallways.

The production calendar's was the same as the stripboard. We had to input the shots for each day we were going to shot them.
